STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2706 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY January 25, 2019 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. LENTOL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law and the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to parking regulations The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new 2 section 1205 to read as follows: 3 § 1205. Suspension of alternate side of the street parking laws or 4 rules. 1. When parking is prohibited pursuant to an alternate side of 5 the street parking law, ordinance, order, rule or regulation, upon the 6 issuance of a film permit by a municipality that requires parking 7 restrictions, such municipal issuing authority shall submit a copy of 8 the permit to the municipal policing authority and/or parking enforce- 9 ment. Such permit shall include the names of all streets on which film- 10 ing and parking restrictions will occur, and the dates of such filming. 11 2. Upon issuance of a permit pursuant to subdivision one of this 12 section, the municipality shall suspend alternate side of the street 13 parking laws or rules on any of the streets within a six block radius of 14 the street on which filming shall take place. 15 3. The municipality shall take whatever procedures necessary to ensure 16 that people are properly notified of the changes in parking prior to the 17 date such alternate side of the street parking law or rule suspension 18 takes effect. 19 § 2. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended by 20 adding a new section 19-163.3 to read as follows: 21 § 19-163.3 Suspension of alternate side of the street parking rules. 22 1. In accordance with the vehicle and traffic law, upon the issuance of 23 a film permit that requires parking restrictions by the New York city 24 mayor's office of media and entertainment, such office shall submit a 25 copy of the permit to the department of transportation. LBD04645-01-9A. 2706 2 1 shall include the names of all streets on which filming and parking 2 restrictions will occur, and the dates of such filming. 3 2. Upon receipt of a permit pursuant to subdivision one of this 4 section, the department shall suspend all alternate side of the street 5 parking rules on any of the streets within a six block radius of the 6 street on which the filming shall take place. 7 3. The department shall take whatever procedures necessary to ensure 8 that people are properly notified of the changes in parking rules prior 9 to the date such alternate side of the street parking rules suspension 10 takes effect. 11 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately and shall apply to any 12 film permits issued on or after such effective date.
