          tee on Local Governments
        AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation  to  payments  in
          lieu of taxes for projects approved by industrial development agencies
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 859-a of the general municipal law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 7 to read as follows:
     3    7.  Prior  to the approval of any application for a payment in lieu of
     4  taxes  agreement  (PILOT  agreement)  by  any  agency  subject  to   the
     5  provisions of this article, the agency shall notify the school board and
     6  consult  the  district  superintendent of each school district where the
     7  project that is the subject of such PILOT agreement would be located and
     8  obtain approval from each school board to  be  impacted  by  such  PILOT
     9  agreement.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
