        AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to the date for filing the
          certificate of nomination for new parties
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section  6-128  of  the  election  law  is
     2  amended to read as follows:
     3    2.  The  certificate  of  nomination,  with  all  required information
     4  contained therein, shall be filed in  the  same  places  and  manner  as
     5  provided  for  designating  petitions,  not later than [seven weeks] the
     6  first day of September preceding the general election, or  as  otherwise
     7  provided herein.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
