       AN  ACT  to  amend  the  executive  law,  in relation to who may request
         studies and analyses of the administration or operation of a  criminal
         justice agency
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 837 of the executive law, as added
    2  by chapter 399 of the laws of 1972 and as renumbered by chapter  603  of
    3  the laws of 1973, is amended to read as follows:
    4    5. Conduct studies and analyses of the administration or operations of
    5  any criminal justice agency when requested by the head of such agency OR
    6  THE  MUNICIPALITY,  COUNTY  EXECUTIVE  OR  LEGISLATIVE BODY OF WHICH THE
    7  AGENCY IS LOCATED, and make the results thereof available for the  bene-
    8  fit of such agency;
    9    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
