       AN ACT to authorize the commissioner of general services to transfer and
         convey  certain  unappropriated state land to the Bay Shore union free
         school district
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Subject to the provisions of this act but notwithstanding
    2  any other provision of law to the contrary, the commissioner of  general
    3  services  is  hereby  authorized to transfer and convey to the Bay Shore
    4  union free school district, in consideration of one dollar and upon such
    5  other conditions as the commissioner may deem  proper,  the  state  land
    6  located  at  70  Brentwood  Road,  Bay  Shore, in the county of Suffolk,
    7  declared to be abandoned state land by  the  division  of  military  and
    8  naval affairs.
    9    S 2. The lands authorized by section one of this act to be transferred
   10  and conveyed are as follows:
   11    ALL  That  certain piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at
   12  Bay Shore, Town of Islip, Suffolk County, New  York,  more  particularly
   13  bounded and described as follows:
   14    BEGINNING at a point which is the southwest corner of Redington Street
   15  and  Brentwood Road and running thence along the westerly side of Brent-
   16  wood Road South 14  46' East 435.02 feet to the  northerly  boundary  of
   17  land  of  Long  Island  Railroad, Montauk Division; thence running along
   18  said boundary line South 75  33' West 447.83 feet  to  the  Middle  Neck
   19  Line;  thence  North  13   45' West 423.96 feet to the southerly side of
   20  Redington Street; thence along the southerly side  of  Redington  Street
   21  North  74  06' East 440.43 feet to the point or place of beginning. Said
   22  premises containing 4.38 acres more or less.
   23    ALL bearing are referred to the True Meridian.

    1    BEING the same premises described in a deed dated June 30,  1950  from
    2  the  Town  of  Islip to the People of the State of New York, recorded in
    3  the Suffolk County Clerk's Office in Liber 3143 of Deeds at page 130.
    4    S  3.  The  description  in  section two of this act of the land to be
    5  conveyed is not intended to be a legal description but  is  intended  to
    6  identify  the parcel to be conveyed. As a condition of the purchase, the
    7  Bay Shore union free school district may submit to the  commissioner  of
    8  general  services,  for  his  or  her  approval,  an accurate survey and
    9  description of the lands to be  conveyed,  which  may  be  used  in  the
   10  conveyance thereof.
   11    S  4.  The office of general services shall not transfer or convey the
   12  aforesaid land unless application is  made  to  the  office  of  general
   13  services by the Bay Shore union free school district within 1 year after
   14  the effective date of this act.
   15    S  5.  Any lands transferred pursuant to this act shall be used exclu-
   16  sively for the purposes of the Bay Shore union free school  district  to
   17  house  programs  that address the educational needs of the community and
   18  upon termination of such use title to the  lands  so  transferred  shall
   19  revert to the state of New York.
   20    S 6. This act shall take effect immediately.
