          NOUGH, MORINELLO -- read once and referred to the Committee on  Corpo-
          rations, Authorities and Commissions
        AN  ACT  to  amend the public authorities law, in relation to permitting
          persons sixty-five years of age or over and all persons who are  disa-
          bled  or  handicapped  to  use the commuter railroad facilities of the
          Metropolitan transportation authority at half fare
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.   Section 1266 of the public authorities law is amended by
     2  adding a new subdivision 3-b to read as follows:
     3    3-b.  The authority is hereby prohibited from discontinuing or  reduc-
     4  ing standards and procedures whereby all persons sixty-five years of age
     5  or over and all persons who are disabled or handicapped shall be permit-
     6  ted  to  use the facilities of the commuter railroads under the authori-
     7  ty's control at a reduction of one-half of the charge for a single  trip
     8  ticket.
     9    § 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
