       AN  ACT  to amend the penal law, in relation to establishing the offense
         of disruption of a sports contest
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. The penal law is amended by adding a new section 240.23 to
    2  read as follows:
    3  S 240.23 DISRUPTION OF A SPORTS CONTEST.
    4    A PERSON IS GUILTY OF DISRUPTION OF A SPORTS CONTEST WHEN, NOT BEING A
    5  SPORTS PARTICIPANT AS DEFINED IN SUBDIVISION TWO OF  SECTION  180.35  OF
    6  THIS  PART, HE OR SHE, WITH INTENT TO CAUSE ANNOYANCE, ALARM OR PHYSICAL
    7  INJURY TO A SPORT PARTICIPANT OR SPORTS OFFICIAL AS DEFINED IN  SUBDIVI-
    8  SION  THREE  OF  SECTION  180.35  OF  THIS  PART, CAUSES AN OBJECT TO BE
    9  PROJECTED ONTO THE FIELD OF PLAY OF  A  SPORTS  CONTEST  AS  DEFINED  IN
   10  SUBDIVISION ONE OF SECTION 180.35 OF THIS PART.
   11    DISRUPTION OF A SPORTS CONTEST IS A CLASS A MISDEMEANOR.
   12    S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed-
   13  ing the date on which it shall have become law.
