          tee on Veterans' Affairs
        AN  ACT  to amend the civil service law, in relation to increasing civil
          service credits given to veterans currently returning from service
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  Paragraph (a) of subdivision 2 of section 85 of the civil
     2  service law is amended by adding two new subparagraphs 3 and 4  to  read
     3  as follows:
     4    (3) Veterans honorably discharged on or after January first, two thou-
     5  sand nineteen, shall be entitled to receive ten points additional credit
     6  in  a  competitive  examination for original appointment and five points
     7  additional credit in a competitive examination for promotion.
     8    (4) Disabled veterans honorably discharged on or after January  first,
     9  two thousand nineteen, shall be entitled to receive fifteen points addi-
    10  tional  credit in a competitive examination for original appointment and
    11  ten points additional credit in a competitive examination for promotion.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
