        AN  ACT  to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to shared
          animal ownership agreements
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1. The agriculture and markets law is amended by adding a new
     2  section 46-b to read as follows:
     3    § 46-b. Shared animal ownership agreement. Shared animal ownership  is
     4  any contractual arrangement under which an individual:
     5    1. acquires an ownership interest in a milk-producing animal;
     6    2.  agrees  to  pay  another  for, reimburse another for, or otherwise
     7  accept financial responsibility for the care and boarding of  the  milk-
     8  producing animal at the dairy farm; and
     9    3.  is  entitled  to receive a proportionate share of the animal's raw
    10  milk production as a condition of the contractual arrangement.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
    12  have become a law.  Effective immediately the addition, amendment and/or
    13  repeal  of  any  rule  or regulation necessary for the implementation of
    14  this act on its effective date are authorized to be made  on  or  before
    15  such date.
