          tee on Codes
        AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to increasing the penalty for
          computer sex crimes
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  The closing paragraph of section 235.21 of the penal law,
     2  as amended by chapter 600 of the laws of 1996, is  amended  to  read  as
     3  follows:
     4    Disseminating  indecent  material  to minors in the second degree is a
     5  class [E] D felony.
     6    § 2. The closing paragraph of section 235.22  of  the  penal  law,  as
     7  added by chapter 600 of the laws of 1996, is amended to read as follows:
     8    Disseminating  indecent  material  to  minors in the first degree is a
     9  class [D] C felony.
    10    § 3. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed-
    11  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.

                              [ ] is old law to be omitted.
