       AN ACT in relation to term of service of  trustee-elects  of  the  Mount
         Vernon board of education during the 2011 and 2012 elections
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general,  special  or
    2  local  law  to  the contrary, for the annual budget vote and election of
    3  the Mount Vernon board of education to be held in May 2011 during  which
    4  four  trustee seats are to be elected, the trustee-elect who obtains the
    5  fourth-highest vote total shall be appointed to  serve  a  term  of  two
    6  years. For the annual budget vote and election of the Mount Vernon board
    7  of  education to be held in May 2012 during which four trustee seats are
    8  to be elected, the trustee-elect who  obtains  the  fourth-highest  vote
    9  total shall be appointed to serve a term of one year.
   10    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
