          RODRIGUEZ -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the  commis-
          sioner of motor vehicles' report on issuing drivers' licenses to immi-
          grants
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 200 of the vehicle and traffic law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows:
     3    3.  The  commissioner shall report to the governor and legislature any
     4  process and/or further legislative  action  necessary  to  allow  agents
     5  issuing  drivers' licenses to accept as primary proof of identification,
     6  documents related to  an  individual's  federal  immigration  status  as
     7  deferred action or a registered provisional immigrant. This report shall
     8  be  submitted  to the governor and legislature no later than June first,
     9  two thousand twenty.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
