          on Higher Education

        AN ACT to amend the education law,  in  relation  to  standardizing  the
          tuition   assistance  award  schedules  for  independent  students  at
          degree-granting colleges in the state

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1. Subitem (b) of item 2 of clause (A) of subparagraph (i) of
     2  paragraph a of subdivision 3 of section 667 of  the  education  law,  as
     3  amended  by  section  2  of part H of chapter 58 of the laws of 2011, is
     4  amended to read as follows:
     5    (b) For students first receiving aid in nineteen hundred  ninety-two--
     6  nineteen  hundred  ninety-three and nineteen hundred ninety-three--nine-
     7  teen  hundred  ninety-four,  [two  thousand  five  hundred  seventy-five
     8  dollars] the same amount as in subitem (a) of this item, or
     9    §  2. Subitem (c) of item 2 of clause (A) of subparagraph (i) of para-
    10  graph a of subdivision 3 of section 667 of the education law, as amended
    11  by section 2 of part H of chapter 58 of the laws of 2011, is amended  to
    12  read as follows:
    13    (c)  For students first receiving aid in nineteen hundred ninety-one--
    14  nineteen hundred ninety-two or earlier, [two thousand four hundred fifty
    15  dollars] the same amount as in subitem (a) of this item; or
    16    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
