STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10017 IN ASSEMBLY March 4, 2020 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. HEVESI -- read once and referred to the Committee on Children and Families CONCURRENT RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY proposing an amendment to article 17 of the constitution, in relation to preventing and mitigating adverse childhood experiences 1 Section 1. Resolved (if the Senate concur), That article 17 of the 2 constitution be amended by adding a new section 8 to read as follows: 3 § 8. The prevention and mitigation of adverse childhood experiences is 4 a public concern and shall be addressed by the state and by such of its 5 subdivisions, and in such manner and by such means, as the legislature 6 may from time to time determine. 7 § 2. Resolved (if the Senate concur), That the foregoing amendment be 8 referred to the first regular legislative session convening after the 9 next succeeding general election of members of the assembly, and, in 10 conformity with section 1 of article 19 of the constitution, be 11 published for 3 months previous to the time of such election.
