STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10260 IN ASSEMBLY April 8, 2020 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. MALLIOTAKIS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to reducing tolls for residents of certain counties on the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new 2 section 553-l to read as follows: 3 § 553-l. Verrazzano-Narrows bridge; resident toll reduction program. 4 Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of law, but subject to agree- 5 ments with noteholders and bondholders, the authority shall use any 6 additional toll revenue generated as a result of congress passing United 7 States Public Law 116-69 exclusively to reduce the tolls for residents 8 of the counties of Kings and Richmond using a New York customer service 9 E-ZPass account on the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge. The amount of such 10 reduction shall be determined by the board and shall be based on the 11 difference between the amount of toll revenue generated before and after 12 the implementation of two-way tolling on the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge. 13 This reduction shall not substitute, but be in addition to, any other 14 rebates, credits or discounts currently received by E-ZPass users cross- 15 ing the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge. 16 § 2.
