STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10354 IN ASSEMBLY April 29, 2020 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. BICHOTTE -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend part H of chapter 58 of the laws of 2019, amending the environmental conservation law and other laws relating to establishing guidelines for bag waste reduction, in relation to the effectiveness thereof; and suspends any rule or regulation concerning such bag waste reduction currently in effect until January 1, 2021 in response to the public health emergency related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 5 of part H of chapter 58 of the laws of 2019, 2 amending the environmental conservation law and other laws relating to 3 establishing guidelines for bag waste reduction, is amended to read as 4 follows: 5 § 5. This act shall take effect [March 1, 2020] January 1, 2021. 6 § 2. Any rule or regulation established and/or enacted in furtherance 7 of part H of chapter 58 of the laws of 2019 are hereby suspended and 8 shall resume effectiveness on January 1, 2021. 9 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to 10 have been in full force and effect on and after March 1, 2020.
