        AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of
          the state highway system as the "Chief George Bell Memorial Highway"
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-j to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 344-j. Portion of the state highway system to be designated  as  the
     4  "Chief  George  Bell Memorial Highway". The portion of state route twen-
     5  ty-two in the village of Cambridge, county of Washington shall be desig-
     6  nated and known as the "Chief George Bell Memorial Highway".
     7    § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the  instal-
     8  lation  and  maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
     9  as designated pursuant to section one of this  act.  However,  to  avoid
    10  confusion  and  to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig-
    11  nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall  be  one  of
    12  ceremonial  nature  and  the  official name of such highway shall not be
    13  changed as a result of this act.
    14    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
