Senate Resolution No. 1655

        HONORING  Darrell  Ambersley  upon the occasion of
        his designation as recipient of a  2019  Scholarship
        Award  by  the  Community  Council  for Medgar Evers
        College, Inc.

  WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body  to  commend  and
pay  tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success
in their educational endeavors, have inspired and brought pride  to  our
majestic Empire State; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Darrell Ambersley upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
2019 Scholarship  Award  by  the  Community  Council  for  Medgar  Evers
College,  Inc.  celebrated  at  its  16th  Annual Spring Scholarship and
Leadership Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Brooklyn, New
York; and

  WHEREAS, Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Darrell Ambersley is currently a
Mathematical Science major at Medgar Evers College where he has a  3.419
GPA and works as a College Assistant in the Bursar's office; and

  WHEREAS,  Athletically and academically Darrell Ambersley has proven
himself to be a tremendous combination  of  talents;  he  has  made  the
Dean's  List  four  consecutive semesters and is the Vice Captain of the
Men's Soccer Team; and

  WHEREAS, This extraordinary young man also owns and operates a small
business in Jamaica, which now  serves  the  Caribbean  and  the  United
States; and

  WHEREAS,  Darrell  Ambersley, in achieving this high academic honor,
may take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school;  now,
therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor  Darrell  Ambersley  upon  the  occasion  of  his  designation  as
recipient  of  a  2019  Scholarship  Award  by the Community Council for
Medgar Evers College, Inc.; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Darrell Ambersley.
