CONGRATULATING Sophia McCabe upon the occasion of
receiving the Girl Scout Silver Award, Cadette
Scouting's highest award and Girl Scouting's second
highest achievement
WHEREAS, Sophia McCabe was honored with the Girl Scout Silver Award,
Cadette Scouting's highest award and Girl Scouting's second highest
achievement; the ceremony will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Sophia McCabe is a member of the Girl Scouts of America
Troop 3602, Plainedge, New York; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our Nation's young people
the goals of building solid values of sisterhood and the importance of
working with others, stimulating both mind and body, instilling pride,
and encouraging community service and success; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has expanded the horizons of the countless
hundreds of thousands who have participated in Scouting programs which
have made Scouting an American and international institution; and
WHEREAS, Sophia McCabe completed a Silver Award community service
project which she planned, developed and executed; and
WHEREAS, The Silver Award is earned over a two-year period; it is
tangible evidence of Sophia McCabe's high character and commitment, and
is a harbinger of her future service to her community, New York State,
and the Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Sophia McCabe, recognizing her achievement in earning the
Girl Scout Silver Award, and to wish her continued success in all her
future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sophia McCabe.
