        MOURNING  the  untimely  death  of  Christopher M.
        Ignatowski, family  man,  and  beloved  teacher  and
        coach  for  Lake  Shore  Central  School District in
        Angola, New York

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the life
and  accomplishments  of  individuals  whose  enduring  commitment   and
dedication  significantly  enhanced  the  quality  of education in their
community; and

  WHEREAS, With deep regret this Legislative Body records the untimely
death of Christopher M. Ignatowski, family man, and beloved teacher  and
coach  for  Lake  Shore  Central School District in Angola, New York, on
Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at the age of 48; and

  WHEREAS, Christopher M. Ignatowski was born to Gerry  and  the  late
Honorata  Ignatowski  on February 19, 1971, in Buffalo, New York; at the
age of 13, he and his family moved to Attica, New York, where he  played
football  and  volleyball  at  Attica  High School; after graduating, he
continued to play volleyball at both Genesee Community College and  SUNY
Cortland; and

  WHEREAS,  A  resident  of  East  Aurora,  New  York,  Christopher M.
Ignatowski was a middle school physical education teacher for Lake Shore
Central School District, where he  also  served  as  a  beloved  tennis,
swimming, volleyball, and track and field coach; and

  WHEREAS,  Throughout  his  short,  yet  distinguished  career  as an
educator, Christopher M. Ignatowski showed a clear understanding of  the
breadth  of his role in shaping the futures of the children entrusted to
his care and instruction; he dedicated his life to  nurturing  our  most
precious resource, our youth; and

  WHEREAS,  A  kind  and  generous  man  who  was  a  friend  to  all,
Christopher M.  Ignatowski took his position of both teacher  and  coach
very  seriously;  with  a  deep  passion  and unremitting commitment, he
pushed everyone to be better; and

  WHEREAS, Chris Ignatowski is survived  by  his  loving  wife  of  24
years, the former Lori Bush; one daughter, Alyssa; one son, Cameron; one
sister, Janet (John); one nephew, Nick; and one niece, Jenna; as well as
a  legion of students and colleagues, all of whom are proud to have been
part  of  his  life  and  rejoice  in  his   devotion   and   his   many
accomplishments; and

  WHEREAS,  Over  the  course  of his exemplary career, Christopher M.
Ignatowski touched  the  lives  of  thousands  of  young  people,  their
parents,  and  the  Angola  community  he  served; he leaves a legacy of
learning and commitment which will long endure; and

  WHEREAS, It is with  profound  sorrow  and  deep  regret  that  this
Legislative  Body is moved to mourn the untimely death of Christopher M.

Ignatowski, family man, and beloved teacher and  coach  for  Lake  Shore
Central School District in Angola, New York; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
pay tribute to the memory of Christopher M. Ignatowski, to celebrate his
life, and to  acknowledge  the  significance  of  his  contributions  to
education in Angola and New York State; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Christopher M. Ignatowski.
