        COMMENDING  Itrice  Dan  upon  the occasion of her
        designation for special recognition by  the  African
        American Cultural Center of the Capital Region, Inc.
        on September 27, 2019

  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and  who  serve  as  role
models for their peers; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Itrice Dan
upon  the  occasion  of  her  designation for special recognition by the
African American Cultural Center of  the  Capital  Region,  Inc.  to  be
celebrated  at  its  1st  Annual  Gala on Friday, September 27, 2019, at
Treviso by Mallozzi's in Albany, New York; and

  WHEREAS, A senior at Troy High School, Itrice Dan is  determined  to
graduate  from  high  school,  go  to  college,  and eventually become a
psychologist; unwavering in  her  pursuit  to  achieve  her  goals,  she
believes that with perseverance, her dreams will be realized; and

  WHEREAS,   This   remarkable   young   woman  is  involved  in  many
extracurricular activities and clubs, including Student Council, Spanish
Club, CSI - Community Service in Troy  volunteer,  peer-leadership,  and
her  favorite,  We are Voices and Educators (WAVE) which helps to spread
awareness and educate students; and

  WHEREAS, Events which celebrate diversity and  peace  contribute  to
fulfilling  our  Nation's  great  legacy of equality and opportunity for
all, and do so profoundly enhance our shared commitment to  freedom  and
justice; and

  WHEREAS,  With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Itrice Dan represents the best development of  the  potential  which  is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Itrice Dan upon the occasion  of  her  designation  for  special
honor  by  the  African  American Cultural Center of the Capital Region,
Inc.; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Itrice Dan.
