        HONORING  Faryce  Moore  upon  the occasion of her
        designation for special  recognition  by  Stuy  Park
        Lions Club, Inc. on February 14, 2020

  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who would devote  their  life's  work
and  purpose  to  community  service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern  and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Faryce   Moore   upon  the  occasion  of  her  designation  for  special
recognition by Stuy Park Lions Club, Inc. to be celebrated  at  its  Red
and  White  Sweetheart  Gala  on  Friday, February 14, 2020, at Antun's,
Queens Village, New York; and

  WHEREAS,  The  Stuy  Park  Lions  Club  is  part  of   Lions   Clubs
International,  one  of  the largest service organizations in the world,
and is deeply committed to meeting the challenges of public service; and

  WHEREAS, Faryce "Faye" Moore was born and raised  in  Brooklyn,  New
York,   where   she  attended  Brooklyn  Technical  High  School;  after
graduation, she earned  her  Bachelor  of  Science  degree  in  Criminal
Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University
of New York; and

  WHEREAS,   With   a  steadfast  and  unwavering  commitment  to  her
community, Faye Moore worked in both the New York  City  Law  Department
and Comptroller's Office, and in 1986, began serving as a caseworker for
Special Services for Children (now ACS); and

  WHEREAS,  In  1993,  Faye  Moore joined the Social Services Employee
Union Local 371 which represented city caseworkers; she  quickly  became
an active member and held the titles of Assistant to the President, Vice
President  of  Legal  Services and President; in these leadership roles,
she testified in front of  multiple  government  bodies,  spoke  on  the
union's behalf in the media, and represented the union at several social
justice organizations; and

  WHEREAS,  After  almost  two  decades  of service to the Union, Faye
Moore  returned  to  City  service  in  2011,  and  is   currently   the
Administrative Director of the Charles Moore Dance Theatre; through this
role, she partnered with Pastor Craig B. Gaddy Sr., and the Theatre took
up residence at Friendship Baptist Church; and

  WHEREAS,  Faye  Moore  joined Friendship Baptist Church on August 4,
2013, and since then, has served in numerous capacities, such as holding
the title of President of the Women's Ministry, member of  the  Pastor's
Aide, and Worship Leader once a month; and

  WHEREAS,  Faye Moore has been the proud recipient of numerous awards
and accolades from the NYC Branch  of  the  NAACP,  the  DC  37  Women's

Committee,  Jonah  Village,  Inc.,  New  York  State  and City, Brooklyn
officials, and most recently, the Friendship Baptist Church; and

  WHEREAS,  The  success  of  the  Stuy  Park  Lions Club is in direct
correlation to the efforts of dedicated members  such  as  Faryce  Moore
whose   involvement  is,  and  always  has  been,  characterized  by  an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm,  and  an  uncompromising
standard  of  excellence  in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

  WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this  Legislative  Body
to  honor  and  support  those  individuals  who  have  displayed  their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the  intent
of  this  Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Faryce Moore, that  future  generations  may  know  and  appreciate  her
admirable  character,  her  many  benevolent  deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  Faryce  Moore  upon  the  occasion of her designation for special
recognition by Stuy Park Lions Club, Inc.; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Faryce Moore.
