        HONORING  Reflections  Hair Design of WNY upon the
        occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2019
        Small Business of the Year  Award  by  the  Clarence
        Chamber of Commerce on March 7, 2019

  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
small  businesses  within  the State of New York which contribute to the
economic health and vitality of the communities they serve; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor  Reflections
Hair  Design of WNY upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the 2019 Small Business of the Year Award by  the  Clarence  Chamber  of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its 47th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday,
March 7, 2019, at Samuel's Grande Manor in Clarence, New York; and

  WHEREAS,   Reflections   Hair   Design  of  WNY  is  receiving  this
prestigious award for its steadfast and unremitting  commitment  to  its
Clarence community; for the last 30 years, the salon has strived to make
its clients feel and look their very best; and

  WHEREAS, In December of 1988, three partners opened Reflections Hair
Design  of  WNY;  in 1999, they purchased a house at 8281 Sheridan Drive
and converted it into a salon, where the business remains today; and

  WHEREAS, in January of 2014, Debbie  Michnik  purchased  Reflections
Hair  Design  of WNY as the sole owner, and celebrated a grand reopening
in June of 2014; today, she continues to run  the  salon  with  all  the
warmth,  enthusiasm  and  energy required to make a successful business;
and

  WHEREAS, Debbie Michnik grew up in Clarence where she graduated from
high school; she then learned her craft from  the  Harkness  Career  and
Technical Center for Cosmetology; and

  WHEREAS,  Under  Debbie  Michnik's  luminous leadership, Reflections
Hair Design of WNY boasts a well-rounded capable  staff  who  diligently
work  to  ensure  their  client's happiness and confidence by offering a
wide range of hair services and both manicure and pedicure needs; Debbie
is proud of their on-going professional education, ensuring she and  her
staff is knowledgeable on the latest fashions and trends; and

  WHEREAS, Reflections Hair Design of WNY also carries a wide range of
different  maintenance  services, such as textured perms and permanents,
hair coloring, and solutions for thinning hair; and

  WHEREAS, Debbie Michnik truly believes local small  businesses  need
to  help  each  other  to  succeed by sharing and promoting each other's
strengths, while taking a personal interest in their local community and
customer's needs; at her salon,  she  promotes  a  "Community  Area"  to
display local businesses and Town of Clarence events; and

  WHEREAS,  Debbie  Michnik  also finds time to volunteer her time and
energy to many worthy organizations including the Clarence Schools,  St.

Mary's  Church  of  Swormville,  Clarence  Chamber of Commerce, Clarence
Women's Club, Garden Friends of Clarence, Alzheimer's of  WNY,  Leukemia
and  Lymphoma  Society,  and  Kiwanis; in addition, she hosts an annual,
month  long,  WNY  United  Way of Buffalo and Erie County Community Baby
Shower for at-risk mothers, collecting essential supplies to give  their
babies  a  healthy  start,  critical  to the baby's continued health and
development; and

  WHEREAS, For three decades,  Reflections  Hair  Design  of  WNY  has
served  clients  of  all ages, from infants to seniors, treating them as
they were their own family; and

  WHEREAS, It is  with  great  pleasure  that  this  Legislative  Body
acknowledges  Reflections  Hair  Design of WNY's success, recognizes its
contributions to the local and State economies, and extends its  highest
commendation to the corporation and its employees, fully confident that,
in its future, it will enjoy the same success which has so characterized
its past; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor  Reflections  Hair  Design  of  WNY  upon  the  occasion  of   its
designation as recipient of the 2019 Small Business of the Year Award by
the Clarence Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Debbie Michnik, Owner, Reflections Hair Design of WNY.
