Assembly Resolution No. 422 BY: M. of A. Palmesano CONGRATULATING Jeannette Frank upon the occasion of her retirement after 40 years of distinguished service to The Arc of Schuyler WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the quality of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and self-worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and WHEREAS, From time to time, society calls upon these individuals and organizations to be recognized for the significance of their contributions and efforts to assist others in developing the skills necessary to be successful, productive citizens; and WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Jeannette Frank upon the occasion of her retirement after 40 years of distinguished service to The Arc of Schuyler; she will officially retire from the esteemed position of Executive Director on Monday, July 1, 2019; and WHEREAS, Jeannette Frank has served as Executive Director of The Arc of Schuyler for the past eight years, overseeing the organization's many services for people with disabilities and their families including vocational training, social integration programs and residential options; and WHEREAS, In this capacity, Jeannette Frank was instrumental in the organization and advancement of community-based services such as Schuyler County Transit and Transportation Link-Line as well as social enterprises operated by The Arc of Schuyler, including Franklin Street Gallery and Gift Shop and Glen Copack; and WHEREAS, Jeannette Frank began her illustrious career as an Outreach Worker in 1978, during which time she met with families to discuss new service options provided locally through The Arc of Schuyler, and helped those families bring their loved ones with disabilities out of institutions and to their home communities; and WHEREAS, For the past four decades, Jeannette Frank rendered faithful, conscientious and valuable service to The Arc of Schuyler, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and WHEREAS, In completing her service as Executive Director, Jeannette Frank leaves behind more than mere bricks and mortar; she leaves behind a legacy to those individuals supported by The Arc of Schuyler as well as their families and the community-at-large; and WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that demonstrated by Jeannette Frank over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to others; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to congratulate Jeannette Frank upon the occasion of her retirement after 40 years of distinguished service to The Arc of Schuyler; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Jeannette Frank.
