Assembly Resolution No. 582

        CONGRATULATING Sarah Crockett upon the occasion of
        capturing    the   2019   Outdoor   NYSPHSAA   Girls
        Championship in the shot put

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
pay  tribute  to those young people within the State of New York who, by
achieving outstanding success in athletic competition, have inspired and
brought pride to their school and community; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
congratulate Sarah Crockett upon the  occasion  of  capturing  the  2019
Outdoor  NYSPHSAA  Girls Championship in the shot put on Friday, June 7,
2019, at Middletown High School in Middletown, New York; and

  WHEREAS, Rome  Free  Academy  senior  track  and  field  star  Sarah
Crockett won the title for the second year in a row with a personal-best
throw of 42 feet, 2 3/4 inches; she also came in 3rd place in the discus
throw with a distance of 127-7 feet; and

  WHEREAS, This latest achievement qualifies Sarah Crockett to advance
to the Federation Championships; and

  WHEREAS,  Proudly  donning  the school's colors of black and orange,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported Sarah Crockett throughout her journey as she ended her  season
with an impressive overall record; and

  WHEREAS,  In light of her recent accomplishments, Sarah Crockett has
brought honor and just pride to her school and community on  the  local,
State and National level; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Sarah Crockett upon the  occasion  of  capturing  the  2019
Outdoor NYSPHSAA Girls Championship in the shot put; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sarah Crockett.
