STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 530 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN SENATE (Prefiled) January 9, 2019 ___________ Introduced by Sen. GALLIVAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to registration of certain motor vehicles The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph c of subdivision 6 of section 401 of the vehicle 2 and traffic law, as amended by chapter 734 of the laws of 1983, is 3 amended to read as follows: 4 c. The provisions of this subdivision with respect to the payment of 5 registration fees shall not apply to a passenger or suburban type motor 6 vehicle or the provisions of subdivision seven of this section with 7 respect to the payment of registration fees shall additionally not apply 8 to any auto truck or light delivery car [having a maximum gross weight9of less than sixty-five hundred pounds] which is used exclusively for 10 passengers and owned by any disabled veteran of the armed forces of the 11 United States who has obtained such motor vehicle under and pursuant to 12 the provisions of public law number six hundred sixty-three, seventy- 13 ninth congress, and public law number seven hundred ninety-eight, eight- 14 y-first congress and public law number one hundred eighty-seven, eight- 15 y-second congress or any comparable motor vehicle which is bought or 16 acquired to replace such original motor vehicle owned by such disabled 17 veteran. 18 § 2.
