RITCHIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions -- reported favorably from said committee, ordered to first and second report, ordered to a third reading, amended and ordered reprinted, retaining its place in the order of third reading AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the powers and duties of the dormitory authority The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 32 of section 1676 of the public authorities 2 law, as added by chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, is amended to read as 3 follows: 4 32. The term "public library" shall mean [those libraries set forth in5section five of the chapter of the laws of nineteen hundred ninety-three6which added this subdivision, as defined as] any library chartered by 7 the state board of regents or incorporated under the not-for-profit 8 corporation law constituting a public library [or as], an association 9 library [pursuant to] or a free library as defined in section two 10 hundred fifty-three of the education law. 11 § 2. This act shall not affect the status as a "public library" for 12 purposes of title 4 of article 8 of the public authorities law of those 13 libraries set forth in section 5 of chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, as 14 amended from time to time prior to the effective date of this act, nor 15 shall this act impair the validity of bonds heretofore issued by the 16 dormitory authority for the benefit of any such library. 17 § 3.
