STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2493 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 25, 2019 ___________ Introduced by Sens. SERRANO, BAILEY, SANDERS, SAVINO, STEWART-COUSINS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation AN ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in relation to waiver of certain fees The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 13.15 of the parks, recreation and historic preser- 2 vation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 3-a to read as 3 follows: 4 3-a. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, 5 senior citizens shall be entitled to use any park, recreational facility 6 or historic site under the jurisdiction of the office upon the same 7 terms and conditions as apply to the general public, but without the 8 payment of any fee or other charge for such use. For purposes of this 9 subdivision the term "senior citizens" shall mean persons sixty-two 10 years of age or older. 11 § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 12 have become a law. Effective immediately the addition, amendment and/or 13 repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of 14 this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed 15 on or before such date.
