STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2631 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 28, 2019 ___________ Introduced by Sen. LANZA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to requiring public hearings where procurements valued over one hundred thousand dollars are made overseas The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Article 1 of the public authorities law is amended by 2 adding a new title 3 to read as follows: 3 TITLE 3 4 GENERAL PROVISIONS 5 Section 9. Public hearings. 6 § 9. Public hearings. A public authority created by or existing under 7 this chapter or any other law of the state shall hold at least one 8 public hearing prior to procuring materials overseas valued over one 9 hundred thousand dollars for capital projects. 10 § 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall 11 have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted.
