       Introduced  by  Sen.  HANNON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations,  Authorities
         and Commissions
       AN  ACT  to  authorize the Long Island power authority to impose time of
         day rates and charges for the furnishing or rendition of gas or  elec-
         tric power
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,  upon
    2  the  expiration  of  the existing limitations upon the rates and charges
    3  which may be imposed by the Long Island power authority for the furnish-
    4  ing or rendition of gas or electric power or  of  any  related  service,
    5  such  authority shall, consistent with the provisions of subdivision (u)
    6  of section 1020-f and subdivision 6 of  section  1020-k  of  the  public
    7  authorities  law,  as added by chapter 517 of the laws of 1986, fix such
    8  rates and charges based upon the time of day of the furnishing or rendi-
    9  tion of such power or services.
   10    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
