        Introduced  by  Sens. PERSAUD, SALAZAR, THOMAS -- read twice and ordered
          printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee  on  Educa-
          tion
        AN  ACT to amend chapter 658 of the laws of 2002, amending the education
          law, relating to citizenship requirements for permanent  certification
          as a teacher, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 658 of the laws of 2002, amending  the
     2  education  law,  relating  to  citizenship  requirements  for  permanent
     3  certification as a teacher, as amended by section  59  of  part  YYY  of
     4  chapter 59 of the laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows:
     5    §  2. This act shall take effect immediately[, and shall expire and be
     6  deemed repealed November 30, 2022].
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
