RIVERA, LITTLE, SERRANO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Higher Education -- committee discharged and said bill committed to the Committee on Health -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relating to authorizing certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other juris- dictions to practice in this state in connection with an event sanc- tioned by New York Road Runners, in relation to including the World Triathlon Corporation and extending the provisions thereof The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relating to authorizing 2 certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other juris- 3 dictions to practice in this state in connection with an event sanc- 4 tioned by New York Road Runners, as amended by chapter 69 of the laws of 5 2018, is amended to read as follows: 6 Section 1. Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of law, any 7 person who is licensed to practice as a physician, physician's assist- 8 ant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, opto- 9 metrist, nurse, nurse practitioner, emergency medical technician, certi- 10 fied athletic trainer or podiatrist in another state or territory, who 11 is in good standing in such state or territory and who has been 12 appointed by the New York Road Runners or World Triathlon Corporation to 13 provide professional services at an event in this state sanctioned by 14 the New York Road Runners or World Triathlon Corporation, may provide 15 such professional services to athletes and team personnel registered to 16 train at a location in this state or registered to compete in an event 17 conducted under the sanction of the New York Road Runners or World 18 Triathlon Corporation in the state without first being licensed pursuant 19 to the provisions of title 8 of the education law. LBD11163-04-9S. 5295--A 2 1 be provided only four days before through one day after each of the 2 [following events:3a. the Staten Island half marathon scheduled to be held on October 14,42018;5b. the New York city marathon scheduled to be held on November 4,62018;7c. the Brooklyn half marathon scheduled to be held on May 19, 2018;8d. the Bronx half marathon scheduled to be held on September 30, 2018;9e. the Queens 10k scheduled to be held on June 16, 2018; and10f. the New York city half marathon scheduled to be held on March 18,112018] events sanctioned by either the New York Road Runners or World 12 Triathlon Corporation scheduled to be held between January 1, 2020 and 13 December 31, 2025. 14 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be 15 deemed repealed [January 31, 2019] December 31, 2025. 16 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to 17 have been in full force and effect on and after January 31, 2019; 18 provided that the amendments to section 1 of chapter 192 of the laws of 19 2011, made by section one of this act, shall not affect the repeal of 20 such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
