        Introduced  by  Sen.  COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation  to  motorcycle
          awareness on state highways
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 1686 to read as follows:
     3    § 1686. Motorcycle awareness. (a) The state transportation commission-
     4  er  shall  install  signs  on  all  state highways in an effort to raise
     5  motorcycle awareness. Such signs shall clearly state "Watch for Motorcy-
     6  cles".
     7    (b) The design, place and manner of installation of such  signs  shall
     8  conform to the manual and specifications for a uniform system of traffic
     9  control devices adopted by the state transportation commissioner.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
