Bill Title: Subjects certain lands in the town of Blooming Grove and Chester, Orange county, acquired for a public use by the commissioners of the Palisades Interstate park, exclusive of improvements erected thereon by the state, to real property taxation; applies to assessment rolls prepared on the basis of taxable status dates occurring on or after the date on which this act becomes law.

        Introduced  by  Sen.  LARKIN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government
        AN ACT to amend the real property tax law,  in  relation  to  subjecting
          certain state lands in Orange county to real property taxation
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subdivision (e) of section 532 of  the  real  property  tax
     2  law,  as  amended by chapter 660 of the laws of 1997, is amended to read
     3  as follows:
     4    (e) All lands in the counties of Rockland  and  Sullivan  and  in  the
     5  towns of Chester, Monroe, Warwick, Cornwall, Highlands, Tuxedo and Wood-
     6  bury, Orange county, and in the towns of Gardiner, Rochester, Shawangunk
     7  and  Wawarsing,  Ulster county, acquired for a public use by the commis-
     8  sioners of the Palisades Interstate park, exclusive of the  improvements
     9  erected thereon by the state;
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall apply to assess-
    11  ment  rolls  prepared  on the basis of taxable status dates occurring on
    12  and after the date on which this act shall have become a law.
