GALLIVAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to allowing Wyoming county to participate in the Foreign-Trade Zone program The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 17 of section 224 of the county law, as amended 2 by chapter 651 of the laws of 1985, is amended to read as follows: 3 17. The county of Erie may make application to the Foreign-Trade Zones 4 Board established by the act of Congress, approved June eighteenth, 5 nineteen hundred thirty-four, entitled "An act to provide for the estab- 6 lishment, operation and maintenance of foreign trade zones in ports of 7 entry of the United States, to expedite and encourage foreign commerce, 8 and for other purposes," for a grant to Erie county of the privilege to 9 have established, operated and maintained, a [foreign trade] foreign- 10 trade zone or zones within such county, pursuant to the provisions of 11 such act, and if such application be granted, to have established, oper- 12 ated and maintained such zone in accordance with law including a sub- 13 zone to be located in Monroe county which has the authority to create 14 said sub-zone pursuant to chapter five hundred seventy-four of the laws 15 of nineteen hundred seventy-six, and a sub-zone to be located in Catta- 16 raugus county which has the authority to create said sub-zone pursuant 17 to subdivision seventeen-a of this section and a sub-zone to be located 18 in Chautauqua county which has the authority to create said sub-zone 19 pursuant to subdivision twenty-five of this section and a sub-zone to be 20 located in Wyoming county which has the authority to create said sub- 21 zone pursuant to subdivision twenty-nine of this section. Said sub-zones 22 may only be created with the approval of the governing body of the 23 appropriate host county. The county of Erie may enter into such 24 contracts and may appropriate such sums of money as it may deem proper, 25 subject to the provisions of this article, towards the promotion and 26 establishment of such zones. Section 224 of the county law is amended by adding a new subdivi- 2 sion 29 to read as follows: 3 29. The county of Wyoming may make application to the Foreign-Trade 4 Zones Board established by the act of Congress, approved June eigh- 5 teenth, nineteen hundred thirty-four, entitled "An act to provide for 6 the establishment, operation and maintenance of foreign trade zones in 7 ports of entry of the United States, to expedite and encourage foreign 8 commerce, and for other purposes," for a grant to Wyoming county of the 9 privilege to have established, operated and maintained a foreign-trade 10 zone or zones and foreign trade sub-zone or sub-zones within such coun- 11 ty, pursuant to the provisions of such act, and if such application be 12 granted, to have established, operated and maintained such zone or sub- 13 zone in accordance with law. The county of Wyoming may enter into such 14 contracts and may appropriate sums of money as it may deem proper, 15 subject to the provisions of this article, towards the promotion and 16 establishment of such zones. 17 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
