        AN ACT to amend the economic development law, in relation to the  admin-
          istration of a senior tourism attraction program
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Article 5-F of the economic development law, as added by  a
     2  chapter  of  the  laws  of  2017,  amending the economic development law
     3  relating to developing a senior tourism program, as proposed in legisla-
     4  tive bills numbers S.6694 and A.8161-A, is amended to read as follows:
     5                                 ARTICLE 5-F
     6                     SENIOR TOURISM ATTRACTIONS PROGRAM
     7  Section 181-f. Definitions.
     8          181-g. Senior tourism attractions program.
     9    § 181-f. Definitions. For the purposes of this article  the  following
    10  terms shall have the following meanings:
    11    1. "Senior" shall mean persons [aged sixty-five and older] of at least
    12  sixty years or older;
    13    2.  "Senior  [friendly]  tourism  attraction"  shall  mean  a  tourism
    14  attraction as identified by a  participatory  organization  that  [opti-
    15  mizes]  specifies  opportunities  for seniors [in order to enhance their
    16  quality of life].
    17    § 181-g. Senior tourism attractions program. 1. The  commissioner,  in
    18  conjunction  with  [the  commissioner  of parks, recreation and historic
    19  preservation,] all relevant departments and agencies, tourism  promotion
    20  agencies,  and the director of the office for the aging and in consulta-
    21  tion with applicable  local  government  officials,  shall  develop  and
    22  implement  a  senior  tourism  attractions program.   Such program shall
    23  [identify senior-friendly tourism] include the opportunity  to  incorpo-
    24  rate  information  for  visitors  and  senior attractions in each of the
    25  state's [tourism] vacation regions. In  identifying  specific  [tourism]
    26  attractions  to be included in the program, consideration shall be given
    27  to attractions that can be linked  to  surrounding  artistic,  cultural,

     1  historical,  and  entertainment  attractions  or other tourism [destina-
     2  tions] attractions.
     3    2.  The senior tourism attractions program shall identify for visitors
     4  of senior friendly attractions the surrounding attractions, restaurants,
     5  lodging and other exhibits or places of entertainment.
     6    3. [The commissioner shall  conduct  a  public  outreach  campaign  to
     7  inform  the public of the senior tourism program and the senior friendly
     8  attractions in such program. Such  information]  Information  about  the
     9  senior tourism attractions shall be publicly available and posted on the
    10  websites of the department, the office of parks, recreation and historic
    11  preservation, and the office for the aging.
    12    §  2.  This  act  shall  take  effect on the same date and in the same
    13  manner as a chapter of the laws of 2017, amending the economic  develop-
    14  ment law relating to developing a senior tourism program, as proposed in
    15  legislative bills numbers S.6694 and A.8161-A, takes effect.
