STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8127 IN SENATE March 23, 2020 ___________ Introduced by Sen. CARLUCCI -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT in relation to authorizing Bais Malka HASC LLC to file an appli- cation for certain real property tax exemptions The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, 2 the assessor of Ramapo, county of Rockland, is hereby authorized to 3 accept from Bais Malka HASC LLC, a not-for-profit organization, an 4 application for exemption from real property taxes pursuant to section 5 420-a of the real property tax law for the 2013 and 2014 assessment 6 rolls, for a parcel owned by such organization located at 46 Grandview 7 Ave., in the town of Ramapo, Rockland County, otherwise known as Rock- 8 land county tax map section 41.20, block 2, lot 41. If accepted, such 9 application shall be reviewed as if it had been received on or before 10 the taxable status dates established for such rolls. 11 If satisfied that such non-profit would otherwise be entitled to such 12 exemption if such non-profit had filed an application for exemption by 13 the appropriate taxable status dates, the assessor, upon approval of the 14 town board of Ramapo, may grant exemption from all taxation and make 15 appropriate corrections to the subject rolls. If such exemption is 16 granted and such non-profit therefor shall have paid any tax with 17 respect to the subject rolls, the governing body or tax department may, 18 in its sole discretion, provide for the refund of those taxes paid and 19 cancel any taxes, fines, penalties, interest or tax liens remaining 20 unpaid. 21 § 2.
