        Introduced  by  Sen.  AVELLA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
        AN ACT to amend the real property tax  law,  in  relation  to  requiring
          landlords to notify tenants when applying for a major capital improve-
          ment tax abatement
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 467-i of the real property tax law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows:
     3    2-a.  Any  owner  of  an  eligible  building that applies for such tax
     4  abatement shall notify the tenants of such units in the eligible  build-
     5  ing  of  the  owner's  application  within  seven days of submitting the
     6  application.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
