AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for

3

compensation and expenses of witnesses.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 5903(c) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8

§ 5903.  Compensation and expenses of witnesses.

(c)  Travel.--Every witness, except a salaried police officer

11

attending a coroner's inquest during working hours, shall be

12

paid mileage at the business standard mileage rate [of 7ยข]

13

established by the Internal Revenue Service for deductible

14

business mileage expenses for each mile circular actually and

15

necessarily traveled between the place named in the subpoena and

16

the place of residence of the witness.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
