A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and expressing condolences upon the death of
Lance Corporal Abram Howard, who paid the supreme sacrifice
on July 27, 2010, while serving his country in Afghanistan.
WHEREAS, A 2007 graduate of Williamsport High School, Abram
Howard became the 12th member of his family to join the Marines
when he enlisted in May 2007, thereby continuing a longstanding
family tradition of military service; and
WHEREAS, Abram Howard was promoted to Lance Corporal on April
1, 2009, and during his esteemed military career was awarded the
Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal,
Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense

Service Medal; and
WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Abram Howard tragically lost his life
while serving his country in the United States Marine Corps in
the fight against terrorism in support of Operation Enduring
Freedom, when he fell victim to a roadside bomb in the Helmand
Province of Afghanistan on July 2, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Abram Howard is survived by his
mother, Connie Dincher Howard; his father, Bart L. Howard; his
brother, Alex; his sister, Olivia; his maternal grandparents,
Bernard Mike and Helen Yoder Dincher; and numerous aunts,
uncles, cousins and close friends; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his heroic service to his country,
Lance Corporal Abram Howard will be remembered as an avid hunter
and outdoorsman and for his fond appreciation of music and the
guitar; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend
condolences to the family of Lance Corporal Abram Howard, a
dedicated and valiant soldier who remains one of the City of
Williamsport's hometown heroes, who shall be remembered and
respected for his service and his heroism; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
the family of Lance Corporal Abram Howard.
