A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the confidentiality of certain information regarding
  state election inspectors.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Sections 34.001(a) and (c), Election Code, are
  amended to read as follows:
         (a)  The secretary of state may appoint one or more state
  inspectors for an election. The appointment is, until the day after
  election day, confidential and not available for public inspection.
         (c)  A request under Subsection (b) must be received by the
  secretary of state not later than the fourth regular business day
  before the date of the election for which the inspectors are
  requested. The request is, until the day after election day,
  confidential and not available for public inspection [until the day
  after election day].
         SECTION 2.  Chapter 34, Election Code, is amended by adding
  Section 34.006 to read as follows:
         Sec. 34.006.  PLACES INSPECTED CONFIDENTIAL. Information
  held by the secretary of state that indicates the place a state
  inspector has been appointed to inspect is, during the period
  beginning on the day the state inspector is appointed and ending on
  the day after election day, confidential and not available for
  public inspection.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
