A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the applicability of certain limitations on the capture
  and use of biometric identifiers to financial institutions.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 503.001(e), Business & Commerce Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
         (e)  This section does not apply to [voiceprint data retained
  by] a financial institution or an affiliate of a financial
  institution subject to the requirements of Subtitle A, Title V,
  Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (15 U.S.C. Sections 6801 to 6809)[, as those
  terms are defined by 15 U.S.C. Section 6809].
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
