A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to expedited licensing procedures for certain nurses who
  are military spouses.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter F, Chapter 301, Occupations Code, is
  amended by adding Section 301.262 to read as follows:
         Sec. 301.262.  EXPEDITED LICENSE PROCEDURES FOR CERTAIN
  APPLICANTS. (a)  The board shall establish procedures to expedite
  the issuance of a temporary license under Section 301.260 and to
  expedite the processing of an application for a permanent license
  under this subchapter for an applicant who is licensed as a
  registered nurse or vocational nurse by another state and who is the
  spouse of a person who is serving on active duty as a member of the
  armed forces of the United States.
         (b)  The board shall specify in the procedures established
  under Subsection (a) the appropriate documentation to establish an
  applicant's status as a spouse of a person who is serving on active
  duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
