A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to a study of the effects of building requirements on the
  use of water conservation technology.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  (a) The Texas State University Meadows Center
  for Water and the Environment shall study whether state and local
  building codes and other requirements in this state hinder the use
  of water conservation technology, including xeriscaping, greywater
  use, reclaimed water use, and rainwater harvesting and collection.
         (b)  Not later than December 1, 2020, the Texas State
  University Meadows Center for Water and the Environment shall
  submit to the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the speaker of
  the house of representatives a report on the findings of the study.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
