A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to flood insurance coverage requirements for insurance
  policies issued by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 2210.203, Insurance Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (a-2) to read as follows:
         (a-2)  Notwithstanding Subsection (a-1), the association may
  not require as a condition for issuing or renewing an insurance
  policy for a residential property that the applicant provide
  evidence that the property is covered by a flood insurance policy.
         SECTION 2.  The change in law made by this Act applies only
  to an application for initial insurance coverage or a renewal of
  insurance coverage submitted to the Texas Windstorm Insurance
  Association on or after the effective date of this Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
