| relating to the provision of food service, laundry service, and | ||
| lawn care to certain mental health facilities and state supported | ||
| living centers. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 551, Health and Safety | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 551.008 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 551.008. REGIONAL LAUNDRY CENTERS. A regional laundry | ||
| center operated by the commission to provide laundry services to | ||
| department facilities may contract with federal agencies, other | ||
| state agencies, or local political subdivisions to provide or | ||
| receive laundry services. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 551.009(c), Health and Safety Code, is | ||
| amended to read as follows: | ||
| (c) The local mental health authority shall contract with | ||
| Kerrville State Hospital to provide food service, laundry service, | ||
| and lawn care to the local mental health authority operating a | ||
| crisis stabilization unit on the grounds of the Kerrville State | ||
| Hospital as provided by this section. | ||
| SECTION 3. If before implementing any provision of this Act | ||
| a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a | ||
| federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision, | ||
| the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or | ||
| authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the | ||
| waiver or authorization is granted. | ||
| SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
