relating to certain suits filed against a governmental unit and an | ||
employee of the governmental unit. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 101.106(e), Civil Practice and Remedies | ||
Code, is amended to read as follows: | ||
(e) If a suit is filed asserting a claim for which this | ||
chapter waives sovereign or governmental immunity [ |
||

||
the claim against the employee [ |
||
dismissed on the filing of a motion by the governmental unit. | ||
SECTION 2. Section 101.106(e), Civil Practice and Remedies | ||
Code, as amended by this Act, applies only to an action filed on or | ||
after the effective date of this Act. An action that is filed | ||
before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law | ||
applicable to the action immediately before the effective date of | ||
this Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
