relating to the inclusion of the total cost of residential retail | ||
electricity in advertisements and contracts. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 39.101, Utilities Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (i) to read as follows: | ||
(i) A retail electric provider, power generation company, | ||
aggregator, or other entity that provides residential retail | ||
electric service shall provide in its advertisements and contracts | ||
the total cost of its residential retail service, including | ||
transmission and service provider distribution charges, pole | ||
charges, pass-through charges, and any other charges that may be | ||
charged on a customer's bill in addition to the cost per kilowatt | ||
hour. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
