relating to the release of deer by certain deer breeding facilities | ||
to low-fenced acreage. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 43, Parks and Wildlife | ||
Code, is amended by adding Section 43.3635 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 43.3635. RELEASE BY CERTAIN DEER BREEDING FACILITIES | ||
TO LOW-FENCED ACREAGE. (a) A deer breeding facility with the | ||
highest status transfer category as determined by commission rule | ||
may release breeder deer to a low-fenced site that: | ||
(1) includes at least 5,000 acres of contiguous land; | ||
and | ||
(2) is within 200 miles of the deer breeding facility. | ||
(b) The commission shall adopt rules governing a release of | ||
breeder deer under this section. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
