BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Article III, Texas Constitution, is amended by | ||
adding Section 52l to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 52l. On the retirement of an animal owned and used by a | ||
county for county purposes, the county may transfer ownership of | ||
the animal to the animal's handler at no cost to the handler. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2019. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment to allow the transfer of | ||
an animal used for county purposes to the animal's handler on the | ||
animal's retirement." |
